how do you multishine with a claw grip? Do you have to switch to regular grip to multishine consistently?

With a claw grip, you have better aerial control when your thumb can press the A and C-stick, but at the cost of messing up short hops. I believe that multishining could be easy to do if you’re already used to playing with a claw grip, but a standard grip allows you to perform it more consistently. It depends whether or not you’re used to playing with both grips, and I wouldn’t recommend switching to another grip if you’re not used to it, but a claw grip can sometimes be useful because of instant aerials, and SHDL for Fox.

Now then, if you’re feeling comfortable with the claw grip and you want to multishine, the way to do it is to position your hand in the normal proper claw:

And with the Normal claw you’ll use your index finger to press the Y button slightly to perform the short hop, and then press the B button with your thumb to multishine. The only problem I see with this is that pressing the button with the side of your index finger can be annoying because of the pressure, and also because you’ll mess up your short hops more often, but you’ll get used to it after a while. I’m sure there are other ways to multishine with a claw, but this is just one of them.

Yes, but you would reverse it, so you’d press b with your thumb to shine and then press y with your index and repeat the pattern again.
