How to make custom CSP, Battle Portraits, and after Battle Portraits look smooth?

I tried making my own CSP for a texture for Ike, but it came out like this:

However, if I look at a CSP made by someone else, like Mewtwo Y, it looks super smooth and it looks like it is a part of the character selection portraits, not some bootleg CSP. Are there any tips to make custom CSP look professional?

Well, I clicked the edit button but no text is showing up so here's a double post.

This is how my custom CSP looks like :

To make a CSP look professional, you'd need to pose it in BrawlBox then either screencap it there, or export it to a program like 3DS Max and render it.

( Assuming you mean stuff like this: )

Yes, something like that.

Thanks.

Do you mean screen cap it like fn + print screen? Also, Ike's eyes are close. How do I change that, and how can I move his model to a pose I want him to make?

This topic on KCMM should get you started. Note that if you want to get better results, you'll need to edit them more than that tutorial.

Also, I just realized that since that's just a recolour, you could probably get away with recolouring the Brawl CSP too.

And this method won't get you as clean lighting as if you did an actual render in a 3D modelling program, but it'll work for a simple CSP.

Alright, that thread helped out a lot, but my CSP comes out blurry and out of focus from the character. Do you know how to fix this?

It might be because the size is off, it should be 128x160px
