How to make an Amiibo Tier List

How would I go about making one? I've got 17 amiibo and I've been putting them through Round Robin Tournaments and keeping score of each tournament with Microsoft Excel (one chart that tracks how many wins they score and another that tracks their ranking), but I was just wondering if I'm doing something wrong, and what SHOULD I be doing since I feel as if what I have isn't really definitive.

Any suggestions?

That's essentially how a Smash tier list is absed off: tournament results. There are other factors, but you can make a reasonable amiibo tier list based on how they fought each other, provided they were raised the same.

Okay good, at least I'm headed in the right direction. The way I've been scoring wins is that two amiibo will face off in a 1v1 4 stock 8 minute match on a random omega stage. Whichever amiibo wins 2 out of 3 gets one point, but I've been thinking that maybe I should be scoring it differently. At one point I thought scoring each individual victory would be a better way to score, and at another point I even thought of scoring every single ko.
What do you think?

wouldn't it be more accurate to make each amiibo fight every other amiibo to account for bad match ups?
Well yes. That's essentially what a round robin is. In a round Robin, everyone involved goes against everyone else in the tournament, thus getting the most accurate rankings. A big flaw in having it with humans is that people can get super discouraged after a string of losses and not perform as well, but since I'm doing this with amiibo, I have nothing to fear in that aspect.

What I want to know is what really goes into making a tier list because I don't think I'm doing it entirely right.

Also, I should say that I'm still adding amiibo into the mix and resetting amiibo that turn out poorly, so the score keeps getting screwed up.

You might need more than just 17, but that will come when the rest are released I guess.

Ive done the same, loosely, but not as much. Ive just found out my Pikachu is OP, and my Fox runs up and usmashes like hes in Melee.
