i guess im just bitter about all the "how do i do the phantasm\firebird stalls",
but i am also sick of hearing it asked over and over and over...
we all have to start somewhere rite thats true but to think about how many migs and megs of megs have been wasted on that ONE question drives me crazy, i think that anyone who posts that question should HAVE to become a premium member to pay for some of the space they are wasting...
i know that there is plenty of information on how to do these things on the boards... but that doesnt stop people...
so hopefully this title is enuff to draw those people in (i cant think of anything that is more obvious!!!)
ok now that that is over with i will now get on to how to do the stalls...
Firebird stall- this is the easier of the two, the easiest way (i have found) to do this is to push away from the ledge with the control stick to drop and immediately press up b, do this as fast as you can, now you should be in the middle of the firebird animation where he is floating and about to take off, press toward the edge while in this animation and he should grab hold of it (make sure you hold toward the edge as soon as u do the up b in other words) if u happen to be too slow or are not close enuff to grab the edge make sure u sweet spot it instead, there is nothing worse than getting blammed after a failed stall...
the main use for this technique is to maximize your invincibility on the ledge and to look flashy...
in terms of invincibility frames, vs difficulty to perform, vs speed, this is probly the better technique of the two
Phantasm stall- this little technique is practically all flash, and is incredibly hard to do but the props u get from performing it on will are well worth the effort...
two main ways are used when performing this stall...
1) you can use the c stick to drop, this allows u to hold the control stick toward the edge just after u drop so u just have to press the B button, i find this way easier.
2)tap the control stick away (but only just to the point where you drop) then press across b,
sounds simple enuff......
ok now u actually to have to do the physical part of it....
i would recomend goin into slow mo melee and tryin it just to see how much awesome speed u need to do this one....
once u can do that u can TRY in normal melee...
well thats it i think... unless i missed something...
p.s i think this should be stickied just to save at least my frustrations in the future.... (but i wouldnt if i was a mod..)
