How to Deal with Spot dodge?

I'm fairly new to the scene. My spacing and reads are getting better but when I run into players who spot dodge I hit a brick wall. What can I do to punish or discourage frequent spot dodging?

Spot dodge has a decent amount of enging lag, during which the character performing it is again vulnerable but can't act yet... so hit them then ;)
With Marth you usually want that something to be a grab, but your timing needs to be fairly good for that to work.
Some other characters have convenient long lasting moves that can be started before the spot dodge and will still cover the ending lag (e.g. sheik/peach dsmash), Marth doesn't really have sth I would want to use there. Just learn to grab them, it's not that hard, especially if you see it coming.

Dash dance grab if you're close
Dash toward them and grab if you're not too far away
Dash toward them, WD in place, wait, and grab if you anticipate a second spotdodge
Dash past them, WD back or in place, turnaround and grab just for mixups
tl;dr grab

Get used to what they do out of the spotdodge (another spotdodge, shield, retreating aerials, etc)

Yeah just mix it up. Usually I try going for down tilts when approaching because it's a fast move that puts marth in a good position. Obviously I won't always do that. Sometimes grabs are better. Like onstrings said, WD in place, mix it up. It will get easier. Especially if you expect them to do it and they do.
