I can't play Marth players very good I always get F Smashed and it's hard (for me at least) to DI out of his moves. Any tips i'm asking for tips with every thing.

Applies to anyone, not just Marth.

Matches are really just intellectual battles, who can think further ahead of who.

You should be dash dancing and wavedashing outside his range to bait attacks, and abusing lasers to pile on damage while he can't hit you. SHFFL nair-shines, drill shines and attacks off up throw are usually what Fox does to get started. And experienced Foxes don't let experienced Marths take them to FD.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a fairly even MU, so it'll mostly be about who can get the best reads and the best combos off of them.

Try to understand what he can (and wants) to do to you. Then try to not let him do those things.

When the marth is chaingrabbing me, I'll try to DI towards platforms, where I can setup a shield drop or lightshield. On FD, random DI and don't tech towards unless you're mixing it up. You never want to be above marth, and having marth above you makes the matchup easier. Some foxes like to grab Marth a lot, but it depends on what the Marth is reading.

Also, always think that one grab from Marth = death. Thus, use dashdancing and wavedashing to bait out stuff. I wouldn't abuse lasers, rather use them to bait the Marth to approach you, but it really depends on what your playstyle is as Fox. Practice waveshine grabs to upthrow upair, shortened side-b's, and shinegrabs.

If your main concern is getting hit by fsmashes, they're easily punishable. You should be dash dancing and wave dashing in and out of his range, in which you can bait out an fsmash and punish from there.

To be honest, if they're fsmash heavy you can run up, shield and wavedash out of shield and punish him since the ending lag on that move is somewhat massive. Your punish should be determined by percent of course. At lower and mid-range percents wavedash out of shield -> dair -> shine -> follow up depending on DI. At higher percents wavedash out of shield -> up-throw -> up-air. At kill percents, wavedash out of shield -> up-smash.

There are many easy punishes and follow-ups after a Marth fsmashes. Remember to punish accordingly depending on if you can get the kill or would prefer stage position.

As for DI'ing his moves I honestly cannot be of much help as a Marth player in my region combos me pretty hard. Try not to get grabbed because up-throw chain grabs lead into up-tilts and massive damage. Not getting grabbed is key in this matchup as Fox.

Take everything I post lightly though, as I am a horrible player :)
