How to dash dance as sheik?

Hey I'm having problems with dash dancing/foxtrot cancelling as Sheik. On Little Mac, Marth and Roy I can usually do it pretty effectively but when I get to Sheik I keep getting the dash pivot animation. Is it that she has a very short dash dance or long? If someone could upload a small gif of them doing it or somethign that'd help a lot as well.

I don't exactly know what makes Little Mac's, Marth's, or Roy's dance trots so good, but Sheik's is pretty bad from my experience and I've never gotten it to work like the mentioned characters. Might be ebcause I got the timing wrong though so I'm not 100% sure.

hahahaha sheik's dash dance... Wait, I think you are speaking of a dance trot or a "Dash-Dance Cancel", or even sheik's fox trot. Anyway, What I think the problem is with sheik is that you must go the whole default dash distance before you can even think about canceling the dash animation with another one. What makes other characters, like roy, marth, and little mac, is that they move fast and can "just have an easier time doing it". Probably useless info but you might get the idea. Maybe

So it's not worth trying on Sheik? That's fine then. Thanks for the help.

The timing is just different. I have trouble dash dancing and fox-trotting on other characters, but I find it easy and intuitive after 1000+ games of sheik.

Can you record Dance trotting as sheik? I have never seen it and the timing is too annoying for me to attempt.

I do a ton of (traditional) dash dancing with Sheik in Sm4sh. I'm not convinced it is always effective, but it keeps me focused/warmed up, and I swear it has it's uses at times. C-Bouncing has more or less replaced my Dance trotting for baiting and punishing, but I still find myself doing small dancetrot cycles here and there.

Edit: I saw in the Captain Falcon boards that there was a post with an audio clip that had a beat representing the timing for Falcon's Dance Trot. Would be neat to have something similar for Sheik.

I do a lot of that too tbh lol, just to keep my hands busy and be ready to react to anything.

From my experiences, dash dances and foxtrot cancels are decent footsies in neutral. They are good for keeping your foe guessing, so as to bait a response. I also do them for the same reasons the above mentioned, it helps me stay in the game.
