i know this sounds cheesy and probably a bit obvious, but i don't think anyone can come to a consensus on who counters snake because each individual snake player has a style that can counter them, but i don't necessarily think that snake himself has a counter. playing a good snake seems like positioning the hell out of you opponent, to the point where they have nowhere to go. what character does your opponent have a hard time doing this to? someone who's slippery, like toon link, wario, falco, or marth? someone who's impenetrable, like dedede or dk? it all depends on the particular style of the snake player, his or her self. i think i'm going to expand this later, and do a snake matchup against other characters that details how snake must play to beat their particular style.
i don't play with snake, but i know how, and i play against him all the time...i'm countering my friend's snake with marth, and i think it's gonna work out pretty well.
