How to attribute a code to a button/character? (giving a certain char inf. jumps)

I've seen the unlimited jumps code, and versions for it exist for P1, P2, P3 and P4.

I wanted to know if there's any way I can enable/disable this on the fly using a certain button (I've seen other codes use buttons to enable/disable effects) or attribute a code to a specific character (ex. unlimited jumps for, say, Kirby).
