Everyone knows that dash attack is out of the picture and side b is in the dumpster, so how do you approach as Mac. I find it very hard to stop moving and d-tilt or jab. What do?

A really inportant thing to note is that people are of really scared mac when he dashes at them, most will go for a defencive option. This lets you do many diffrent approaches.

Here is a few that i use:

- Dash then Backroll and up-tilt (Make sure you are hiting them with the backside of up-tilt, it covers more area and will beat out most moves. And it is really quick as well ) (This one is probably the most useful)

- Dash then Spotdogde and up-tilt (Try to hit with the front side of up-tilt, can combo into d-tilt)

- Dash then shield to cancel your momentum, walk up to them then d-tilt, f-tilt, up-tilt, down angled f-smash and so on.

- Dash then shield and wait for them to do something, then punish. (Works better if they are in the air)

while all those are good, there are better, faster, and safe ways of approaching as mac.

1. foxtrot into a p pivot u tilt, the backside of utilt is safe on shield(spaced mind you), and is much faster then rolling in or shielding before hand.
2. foxtrot into a dash or roll boosted grab, if you use method one, you can scare your opponent into shield, then punish with grab.
3. foxtrot into a p pivot f tilt (see a pattern?), this is good for a spaced attack, and ftilt can cover a spot dodge decently well.
4. dash and pivot grab behind them, its a unique mixup tool, that will also have them think twice about shielding.
5. dash or foxtrot to shield, if your opponent is using jab or a tilt to stuff your other approaches.

Also, keep in mind that you can use Dempsy rolls (dash dancing) in conjuncture with foxtrot to mix up your timing on your approaches as a mind game tool. these methods above are hard to master, but give you much more versatility when it comes to approaching.

Also, depending on the opponent, you could always just walk. No, seriously. Power shield or punch projectiles, and make a calm, smooth approach. It might take longer, but it's a heck of a lot easier for similar results.

A good Little Mac player will know how to do perfect pivot u-tilts or f-tilts. These moves come out fast and are perfect to pressure opponents. You might want to grab to mix up your approach options.

Either: 1) be tricky, or 2) be simple.

1) Be Tricky:

Mac's got a couple action he can do when he's running at you. Plus, like Rekzius said, people are scared of it.

When dashing at someone, you can dash attack, dash grab, shield, dodge away, dodge behind, spot dodge, pivot ftilt, etc.

Then if you're foxtrot-ing, you can also perfect pivot into a tilt, roll boosted grab, dash dance away, stutterstep fsmash, etc.

Once you learn your options, you'll just start getting creative.

2) Be Simple:

Just walk up. Like SteadyDisciple says.

Or even better. Just stand there and make them approach.

Or stand there and suddenly dash or walk towards them.

Don't over complicate things and just react to what's happening.
