How SSE Will Flow?

We all know how the Subspace Emissary starts off:

1) Epic duel between Mario and Kirby
2) Primids invade battle field
3) Primids defeated by Zelda, Peach, Kirby and Mario
4) The character you chose in part one (Mario or Kirby) will fight against Petey Pirahna

Then? We know that there are multiple teams, but how will we get to play as them?

So far, these teams are known:

Mario-Pit
Kirby-Peach
Yoshi-Link
Metaknight-Ice Climbers
Ike (alone???)
Sonic-Mario-Pit (???)
Fox-Diddy
Diddy-DK

How will the game get us to those? Will we choose them from the SSE select screen, or after completing a certain portion of another team's stroy, do we get to play as them? Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure each team at one time will be on each level. And will choose which team we wont to use. They are each in different stories and times

Mario VS Kirby. Pick one. Pick Kirby? Pick a Princess. The Princess and Kirby are on the Halberd. Fox gets shot. Shoot to Diddy-Fox team.

Pick Mario? Get shot by Petey. Team up with Pit. Eventually team up with Sonic.

The parts in between are hazy.. There might even be a Scene select screen, where you can see who you can begin with...

There are too many possibilities as to how SSE can work out, and we don't even know half of how it works yet. You could know everything there is to know right now on it. It's still pretty much a shot in the dark.

i think its something along the Flying Dutchman's idea.

1. Pick Mario or Kirby
a. Mario? go to 2.
b. Kirby? go to 3.

*Pit cutscene if 2 is picked, play pit for a short while*

2. Mario gets blasted away. Meets Pit.
a. Pick Pit? go to 4.
b Pick Mario? go to 5.

3. Princesses are captured.
a. pick peach? go to 6.
b. pick zelda? go to 7.

4. (insert story here)

5. (insert story here)


I really have no idea. I figure that'll be the set up somehow. I'm just stuck on the transition from Donkey Kong + Diddy to Fox + Diddy.

Here's my guess. The storyline is fixed; it's not a choose-your-adventure kind of deal. I don't think which princess you save will have that much of an effect on the overall storyline. Not to mention that choosing Mario or Kirby will make a difference, and Kirby will always be the first you fight as against Petey.

Mario gets hit by some black bowling ball thing and flies away. Ok so Basically you fight Petey with Kirby. After you win Wario comes in and kills zelda in a cutscene and then the bomb shoots Peach and Kirby away they start flying on his star. Meanwhile Pit sees that there is trouble and jumps down from the heavens below. Then he lands ona platform in the clouds and tyeh Halbert coems by and spills those things near him. you have to fighjt like 25 of them with Pit, then you advance to the left and fight some otyher boss, not quite sure what it is...After you kill him it does a cutscene where Pit sees Mario's trophy in the clouds. He oges and revives him. then you fight with Pit or Mario going through the heavens then you open the door. Then it cuts to Kirby and pEach flying in his star then you fight along top of the Halbert. after that it cuts to a scene where the Fox's arwing gets cut down and it flies near the top where peach/kirby is. they both get swooped by the wind and fall as they fall you select how you play as kirby/peach. Then you fight through the heavens again. After youre done with that it cuts to a meanwhile with that DK scene they showed on the dojo. Then you play as eiether diddy or dk and you go throuigh teh jungles into a door. THIS IS ALL I HAVE SEEN AND IT WAS BY ACCIDENT AFTER MY FRIGGEN COUSIN DECIDE TO SPOIL IT FOR ME SO I DECIDE TO WATCH IT. It was from the demo they released at that one event some guy at gametrailer.com released it. Anyways I watched this on gametrailers.com and I'm sorry if you got spoiled from it, ya shouldn't have read it.

You mean Mario against Petey? My guess is that you can go back to past levels with other characters but it has no effect on the story.

I doubt that. Mario won the match, Kirby was trophized. But if Kirby had won Mario would be trophized changing the scene and most likely the outcome.

You don't know that. Actually my side of the argument has more proof, Mario vs Petey in that video. Boss Rush Mode will most likely use charachters that were supposed to be used. Imagine a boss who was only vunerable by Fox's Shine back.
