How Much Space for Character s

Hey, looking at the character select screen's size (from the video clips at E4A) compared to the size of the playable character tiles. Can one estimate, at most, how many playable character there can be in Brawl. If no one has done this yet, do you think it's worth a try.

In theory, just copy one character tile and place as many of them with the correct spacing until you can't fit any more.

In melee the paramiter of the character tiles changed as you unlocked more characters. So, if you want, try moving aside some character tiles to fit more in.

Do you think this will work?

We can't really tell for certain how many spaces there are by looking at the character select screen. For all we know character slots could get a bit smaller the more characters you unlock or they could be divided into different screens (e.g character screen for the mushroom kingdom, then I seperate screen for Hyrule characters and another for Kanto characters.

That character screen on the demo may have been an early design for all we know and may have changed....

You know it's a demo right? and that they can resize the tiles right? and that this exact thing has been asked like ten times in these boards right?

if they dont resize the tiles 35 fit. wich id a decent number. and i doubt they are changing the tiles.

I actually used the dimensions from the demo. If these dimensions are the same in the Final Roster then there is only room for 23 characters. That being said, if Captain Falcon and Luigi are shoe-ins (and they are) then that means, according to the demo screen, there will be no more characters after the DeDeDe update.

I personally don't think the demo has the final dimensions.

I think the boxes can change size, also, this is a DEMO screen, I am sure the final screen will be different.

This has been discussed thoroughly before, and the general consensus now is that assuming anything about total characters from the demo is a waste of time.
