How much better are people at tournaments vs online?

I'm feeling pretty good about my online game, typically is the level of play way higher at tournaments? I would imagine it is as it filters out casual players, but then again online you aren't restricted to your general area. What's your experience?

Yes, players at tournaments are substantially better than your average for glory player. This is pretty much reflected in the fact that it is a tournament. Obviously players who go to tournaments are seeking competitive play against competent players, while FG players (while many are good), generally play without any repercussion for losing - you can simply find another match.
