Or atleast how long do you think you'll play it? I played Melee for about five years, and Brawl was probably 3 years. For the 3DS version I'd say I'm gonna be playing it for about 5+ years considering it's closer to Melee! :D

I still play Melee and Brawl frequently so I'll be playing the 3DS version for a very long time. Being portable means I get more play time and can play on the bus to and from College every day (as well as during lunch and break).

I'll be honest when I say this:
Early last year, I sold ALL THREE SMASH BROS. GAMES, with my Wii system, for 3DS stuff like Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, because I'm so content with that system. But it was the ANNOUNCEMENT of Smash for 3DS that was enough for me to say "Well, so much for THESE Smash games!", and go full-tilt with just the 3DS. Plus, it's going to be the first portable Smash, and the first Smash game to have a fully operating (we hope) online multiplayer mode. So, yeah, I expect to play this game, like, FOREVER.

I cant count the amount of hours that I will spend on this game, I mean being portable just means I can play it between classes!

I've played Smash64 for 15 years, Melee for 12 years, and Brawl for 6 years. And I try not to think about how much time I've sunk on each. Smash 43DS (and Wii U whenever I get that version) will be no different.

A very, very, very, very, very long time. 'Specially since I'll be able to play it during long car rides and stuff.

No idea. If Brawl is anything to go by, I will likely clock at least 1000 hours in the game.

Well let's see, according to my calculations... 'Calculator explodes'
Seriously though, I'm guess a lot of hours. This will be the first smash I actually own so I don't have to wait to go to like a friend's house just to play smash. Plus, since it's portable so that means I can play it more since I can play it pretty much anywhere!

I mean, that depends. Does listening to music also count in how many hours I put in? Because if so, then it'll probably be the longest amount of time I put in the game.

If we are just talking about something like brawl and just playing the game is the only thing that counts. I played brawl non-stop for like 2 months. I even went back to it a lot more times over the years. I'll probably play the 3ds version non-stop for a lot longer seeing as it has new modes, the music features, and a lot more favorite characters of mine.

I'll also probably come back to it more often then I do brawl. It's portable so I don't have to hook it up and it's easier to start and stop playing due to sleep mode. I can also take it with me to anywhere I want so even more reason to keep playing it. Smash run is also a nice thing to play while waiting for something.

The 3ds version has a lot of genius reasons for me to keep coming back to it and clocking more hours. It really is amazing. <3

Sorry,

Jokes aside, probably more than my clocked time on X/Y which is like 800, but less than the time I spend at school :(

I'll be putting in a lot more than I did before because since it's on my 3DS I don't have to worry about hogging the TV.

Depends how the 3ds feels while playing smash, if I like it I will probably play it as much as possible, if not I can wait for Wii U

A lot of hours will be put into the game as I find myself charging my DDDS XL four times as much as I normally do.

Being able to play Smash Bros. in a portable form is magnificent. The game will be a lot easier and quicker to boot up to, sleep mode will let me stop for a break, but be able to pick up where I left off. Great for long term playthroughs and pick up and play sessions. The new modes seem very promising and I'm certain Smash Run and Online Play will take up a majority of playtime. I'll also aim for gathering all collectables such as trophies, SR power ups, custom parts for Mii Fighters and so forth. There are a lot of new characters that I absolutely love, so my attachment to this installment will quite possibly be greater than Melee's or Brawl's. Let's not get started on music and custom playlists either.

Anyways, there's just so much in this game that I don't think I'll ever be able to put it down once I get the game on launch date.

I still haven't put down Melee and Brawl and I got both at their European release dates. However, the 3DS version will definitely be shelved most of the time once the Wii U version is out, portability doesn't mean much to me as I don't travel long distances.

I'm unlocking as much stuff as I can before the Wii U version drops, so I imagine a time frame like this.

Barring, of course, school and work.

Going by the clock on my X/Y copy, probably 300+ hours.

Depends. How many hours are there between October 3rd and the mysterious holiday release of the WiiU version?

Don't get me wrong I'll still hop on for the occasional smash run, but beyond that why return to the 3DS version? Even when I play my 3DS I usually do so on my couch, where I could just as easily play my WiiU.

I already put over 5,000 hours into Brawl. If the 3DS version has great online, then I'll probably surpass Brawl's numbers.

Well I put about 300+ hours in both Melee and Brawl, and for 3DS I put about 140 hours in Fire Emblem Awakening. Even after the Wii U version comes out I will still play, so I'm guess around 300+ again.

Well, my Wii & Brawl / Brawl- / P:M has been in a common area for some time, but I've played a majority of the matches involved. And it hit the 4,999 matches notification over a year ago (Oddly enough, I still only have 696 stickers, despite a ton of those matches being with items on). Safe to assume Smash 4'll get ridiculous playtime too, as long as I can find a group to play it with. If nothing else, I'll probably play Smash Run a ton on- and offline.

Due to my school work I might not spend much time on it, but I hope I can get some time like 30-40 minutes.

As far as how long I'll be playing it? I still play Smash 64 if that's any indication. As far as clocked hours I'm sure it'll surpass all of my 3DS titles right now my largest times are 1,173 hours for MH3U and 1,057 for Poke'mon X, gotta do something when I'm on that public transportation to work lol. Plus since you'll be able to transfer stuff from the 3DS version to the WiiU version, and probably vice-verse like MH3U, I'll still be playing it even when the WiiU version releases. Heck I play my 3DS MU3U much more than my WiiU version so I'll probably do the same for Smash4, more convenient for me.

As much as time away from my job and my wife will allow...

Sometimes my wife doesn't mind if I geek out but...as they say, happy wife, happy life.

Yeah brawls online sucked
I think you mean to say Wii's online sucked.

Based on New Leaf and past smashes:

October: ~100 hours
November: ~120 hours
December: ~100 hours
January - June: ~120 hours

In total probably 2000+ hours.
