Smash 3DS How long until the game is hacked into?

So, in that respect. How long until someone mines through Smash 3DS, so we can put to rest if there's the additional characters unlocked w/ the Wii U version or not? It looks like it took a little more than two weeks for X&Y to have this happen, so is it happening now with Smash? Or will it take until after it's released internationally? What say you?

There's always that possibility. I think Injustice did that for some of their DLC (But not all of it). Nintendo could do the thing, but that'll lead to larger downloads as well. But, meh. What if the Wii U disc has all of that data specifically for 3DS on it already and you just download it locally rather than through Nintendo servers? That would be pretty ideal...

But yar, I'm kind of hoping someone does the thing soon. Chances of it being before international release? Not sure at all.

More like one or two months, if Pokémon XY is anything to go by.

I do think the game is incomplete at the moment (mainly because of the Conquest Mode being patched and the absurdly small filesize of the game), although I must say I find weird that Nintendo would sell the physical copies missing data. I mean, not everyone have internet connection to download patches and stuff.

Calm down. People only want the game to be datamined in order to know if there is any data related to future characters or even stages.

Depends what kind of hack your talking about.
The X and Y hacker didn't and "full" access to everything on the game cartridge. He only found a method to force encounters with pokemon (for any cyber security geeks out there, what he did is comparable to a Blind SQL Injection Attack). This method would give him access to any pokemon "in the database", but would not get him access to any character models that were not attached to a pokemon (ex. if they made a model for a mega-evolution, but never actually added character data to is, he would not be able to force that to appear).

We could see a smash hack of the same nature (making "hidden" characters to appear, if there are any on disk dlc/event characters) but we wouldn't see unfinished characters through this method. For that we would need full access to the game cartridge file system, which to my knowledge has not been done yet.

You can hack into 3DS cards... However not all cards. Smash 3DS currently being one of those cards.

I was crushed when I found out. Meh still gots my 3D Land BCSTMs and my LM2 GENHs so it's not all bad.

Using the data to know about frames and stuff is great if you're into that, but I'm a lot more interested in more speculation/leakiness. In a lot of ways, I like Smash Bros speculation more than I like the game itself... Not that I in any way dislike the games.

Injustice had leaks because someone found Hex code on the disc that translated into Lobo, Batgirl, Zod, and Scorpion. However the characters were so hard to believe, the hacking was deemed to just be fake until Batgirl was revealed.
I wonder if the same scenario could take place with Smash, but I don't think Sakurai is as naive as to let the names of DLC characters be included in code if they aren't already on the cartridge for some sort of 'update unlocking' to begin with.

Right, but the second set of DLC characters wasn't on the disc at all. Most people didn't see Zatanna coming at all. So that's what I'm wondering, if it'd be like the first set where it's within the code or like the second set where it wasn't at all

By the way- I wasn't talking about a Project M style mod. I meant looking into the game's data to mine for information that we may not yet know about, like when people looked inside of Pokemon X&Y and were able to find as-of-yet unreleased Pokemon.

I'm not, I'm going straight for the music. Unless all the new music is in the OST release... Which is probably what the ost will be, new and original music.only. I like that 3DS basically uses the Wii format BRSTM but renamed them to BCSTM.
