How does Global Smash Power work, and what is a good score?

So is it an actual number of players with inferior records to yours? Or is it just sort of a rating? If it is a number of players, that would explain why mine is slowly increasing - more people are buying the game today, and starting off with less data. Of course this could also be due to the fact that I'm slowly refining and making my score more accurate.

Anyway, what are you guys looking at in terms of GSP?

Effectively, it's a rating inverse to the traditional way of doing ranks. Instead of showing your place among other players (say, in that kind of system, a 1 would mean you're #1), it shows how many players you're better than (so a score of 1 would mean you're only better than 1 player).

So, bigger the better.

Sakurai mentioned that it didn't account for online play, is that true? Mine is up to almost 1 million and 4 Glory is all I've been doing. Is this just because new people are getting the game and starting off with less solo stats than me?
