How does Bowser's super armor work?

Title almost says it all.
With more granularity though: Does Bowser have different types of super armor, ie. his crouch armor vs blinking-red armor when he attacks? Does he have other types of armor besides these two? What are the differences? Are they knockback resistance only or do they also have damage-delt reduction? If the latter is true, is it percentage reduction by flat amount of multiplicative reduction? What play techniques do you do to maximize your exploitation of armor frames?

I feel like this would be a good info dump thread for Bowser's arguably most stand-out attribute from the rest of the cast.

Super armor is something in Brawl that ignores all knockback regardless of percent or knockback. All Bowser armor moves can be broken through by either a certain percent per hit or through an attack with sufficient knockback.

Bowser's crouch, crawl, 1st hit of dtilt, bair and part of grounded upB all have damage based armor, This armor ignores the knockback of every attack that does 7% or under.

Dash attack, Fsmash, Dsmash, Upsmash, Nair, Dair, Side-B and Down-B all have varying amounts of knockback armor. So they will ignore the knockback of an attack that doesn't break their respective threshold. This isn't about base knockback but about the knockback you would actually take. In other words you could armor through 'move-x' at 0% but if you're at 200% it will break through.

Knockback armor is harder to 'pin down' because it's hard to translate: 'knockback armor of 71' into a gameplay scenario. However you can take it from me that a knockback armor of 200 (Fsmash/Down-B, nair) will likely only be broken by a move that would outright kill you.

For more info check out B.W.'s Bowser Information Compilation thread on the old Smashmods forum. It's about 2.1 Bowser but nearly all of the info should be the same:
