Smash Journeyman
G'day guys.
I've been playing around with the customization options since the 3DS release and later on I'll discuss how I've been using custom moves, stat boosts and abilities in the form of 'Project 384'. But before I do I'd like to ask if you do and how do you use the customization features on Smash 4? Do you experiment? Are you trying to find the best possible special set for each fighter? Do you try to balance out certain stats or nerfs? How do you use customization?
I realized months ago that with the customization options it's entirely possible to expand the current roster of fighters simply by assigning the alternate costumes to specific special moves, abilities and stat boosts that are relevant to the costume. This is where Project 384 comes in; at the start of the year I've been actively trying to create specific fighters using the customization features and their alternate costumes to make entirely new fighters such as Fire Mario, Super Kong, Dark Link, Light Suit Samus, Kris (the Avatar from New Mystery of the Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow), Ice Kirby, Shiny Charizard, Blood Falcon and Wood Man to name a few. Above are examples of fighters directly related to their costumes and root character, but not all the costumes are like this so I intend to create fighters with certain attributes that firstly relate to any games they star or feature, the character the costume is based off of or lastly Smash boosts based around Smash Run.
The ultimate aim is to create a full roster of not just the current fighters but alternate fighters by appling special moves and extra abilities, or in some cases nerfs, to their alternate costumes and create a wider option of fighters and play styles.
