How do you all think the 3DS version will be received by the casual community? Will it be sell more or less than the Wii U version? Do you think reputable reviewers and critics will give it better or worse marks than the Wii U version?

I think it will sell better, but only because the wii u sold far far less than the 3ds, if they both sold the same, then wii u without a doubt

lmao
1.) I trust IGN over some critic that gives Super Mario 64 a 3/10 and Superman 64 an 8/10.
2.) Yes, that could be a factor.
lmao what's the point of hating Super Mario 64, or even disliking it. It's objectively the greatest game ever made.

I've never hated a game because of a crappy camera. If it's still playable it's probably still enjoyable.
imo.

Death said it was objectively the greatest game ever made. It's not about an opinion, but what is fact. And no one can objectively say Super Mario 64 is the best game ever. Even then, Ocarina of Time has higher ratings.

I think it will sell more, but get worse reviews because it is a more limited version. Of course we won't be able to tell yet.

Given that the handheld market is more casual-friendly than consoles not named "Wii", and given the accessibility of the 3DS version over the Wii U version, I'd say it will sell more and be more well received than the Wii U version among the casual crowd. Whether the Wii U version will be rated as an overall better game than the 3DS version remains to be seen, though I'm guessing the Wii U will score better.

It'll probably sell better, due to more people already having a 3ds, and the 3ds has a bunch of good games that make it more appealing. not to mention we can finally play Smash while on public transport.

Since it will probably sell more to a casual crowd, does this mean I actually have a chance of winning a tournament :awesome:?!
Also, I can't wait to play this game everywhere! The most likely place for me to play this game is on my bed lol. Not much different from the console game.

I think the casual crowd will love SSB4 on the 3DS since it's pretty much Smash Bros. on the 3DS with some of their favorite characters and stages from the handheld games. However, I think that it's pretty obvious that the Wii U version will attract the more competitive audience. Though, I do think that there will be more sales geared towards the 3DS version rather than the Wii U version due to said accessibility.

Personally, I am going to get both the 3DS and Wii U versions.

I'd love to get both Wii U and 3DS, but I just can't justify buying both a $300 console and multiple $40 games and a 3DS.

I have both consoles anyway, so I am going to get both versions regardless. If you want to get one version however, I go with the one that interests you the most. They're both good systems in my opinion.

Oh definitely, especially since the Wii U's flagships are coming in 2014/late 2013. I just can't hack the price tag for both consoles and games for them. The 3DS just interests me more because it's 3D and handheld.

neither do most consumers
of course, $170 handheld with $40 games are more attractive to the average consumer than $300 console with $60 games!

And since casuals would rather have a more fun time with less money, they will most likely choose the 3DS. I just hope the game gives them a chance to be as good as others really fast by introducing complicated stuff to make it less complicated. Kinda like how the next Pokemon games will help new people by introducing EV training.

Even as a competitive player, I'm going to have to invest in the 3DS version, considering that I would not like to spend the extra load of money on a Wii U. xD Hopefully I'll be able to get used to the controls. More people have the 3DS already as opposed to the Wii U, as everyone has already said, and I'm sure there's even more people like me out there. Overall, even aside from the casual crowd, I think the 3DS version might just outsell the Wii U version by a landslide~

Don't worry, Melee's probably going to stay fairly popular.

Lots of people already have a 3DS (Including me) but by the time of the game's release more and more people will already have a WiiU. Either way, the 3DS will sell more. On a WiiU, one guy says "I'm gonna buy SSB!" and that's it, his friends and him play SSB. On the 3DS, 4 persons buy their copy of the game to play together. I'm going to buy the 3DS version first, and if none of my friends buys the WiiU version, I'd have to buy it. I want easy access to both.

Cell phones are the best things to casual players (with horrible games like Candy Crush. I hate Wait Gaming). The 3DS is closer to a cell phone then a Wii U, gaming wise. I rest my case.

Personally I'm going to get both. I already have a 3ds and my brother and I are saving for a Wii U. I think since the 3ds is more popular than the Wii U (right now, I have my fingers crossed that holiday 2013 will be good for the Wii U) that the 3ds will sell more but the Wii U version will be just a little bit better (because of HD and the local play).

I'm just getting 3ds one just because I don't Wii U but I might get one.
