How do you texture a wall in Maya?

you first have to have the jpg you want on the wall then you have to select the wall and go to color settings and you load the jpg on to the wall. You can do different styles like make one big picture or multiple mini ones.

more specifically how does UV texture editor work
itd help to know for the wall, but i need to texture other things as well (if i wanna get a good grade)
