How do you moon walk with Fox?

i cant fox to moonwalk like that. where he completely turns around and takes a step.

i can moonwalk with other characters like falcon and dr.mario. the way i do it,(facing right) i double tap the stick forward, then drag it across the bottom until i get to the lower left corner. like a almost half circle motion. is there a better faster, more efficient way to do this?

He dashes, wavedashes forward and does the moonwalk motion the same direction. For fox it's usually done out of a walk but a wavedash works for pretty much everyone.
I'd love to see a video of how you're doing it since I'm having trouble visualizing it.

are you sure he uses wavedash to moonwalk? I thought it was just control stick

The way I do it is just walk in the direction you want to moonwalk and then moonwalk like you do with falcon. I can't do it with wavedash..

It's the same motion. When your wavedash ends you enter the walk animation unless you input another dash.
Think of it like waveshining yoshi–he slides back far enough that you need to walk for a moment to get the second shine. The difference is you walk for a moment to get the moonwalk.

The easiest way (for me at least) is to tap lightly on the stick so fox starts walking in a direction then moonwalk to the opposite direction. I've done it while dashing but you have to be pretty fast, I almost never use it when fighting, although the momentum you get from it may let you jump out of the stage and bair to edgeguard and still make it back because of the bigger jump you make out of it, but it seems to me that most people just use it to show off, be flashy and whatnot
