Using the game cube controller, I've been jumping using the Y button for ages. But part of me wonders if that is the best option? I mean that in such a way that since you have to reach over the "A" button, the positioning may make it more difficult to execute a short hop consistently. The "X" button has no other buttons in the way so I think it may be easier like that but since I'm so used to using the "Y" button, it's hard to just all of a sudden change the way I've jumped for years.

Then again... all of that just may be nonsense and maybe most of you guys use Y and short hop effortlessly on demand. I'm not BAD at short-hopping, it's just something that I don't pull off as well and as often as most other players I go against.

I like to use x as my jump because it is closer to the A button than y. Also I feel that moving from Y to a lower button like the c stick is faster.
