How do you jump during withdraw while in the air?

I try jumping in the air while doing my forward b and nothing happens. I've tested both with and without a second jump. What am I missing here? Thanks!

You need to press up-b while in your withdraw. It propels you upwards a bit but can also be used as a surprise KO move with its good knockback.

Perfect, thanks! I'll leave this thread open in case other people are wondering the same thing. It seems like a good way to vary your otherwise kind of predictable recovery.

You can also just press b by itself to cancel the withdraw, and you can up-b after. This is one of the things i find myself doing a ton of the time while recovering high.

That's not really a jump, though. That's using your Up-B out of Withdraw.

You can jump regularly when you're on the ground.
