how do u make video file sizes smaller ???

i tried to make some vidoes to put up on u tube but i can not cause my videos are the large to upload to the site and i do not no how to lessen the video files and i was wondering maybe if some one can help me out :bumper: :ouch:

i think either you can cut down the video file length or just use a different format? (like if you are using .avi, try using a divx converter?
