How do the basic advance movements and techniques with any character?
If it is not covered in the tutorial, it is not basic; but since every character can do it and anyone who is good at the game knows how to do it, these actions are building blocks. (To view the in-game tutorial, go to the screen that says push any button and then don't push any button.)

Perfect Pivot
perfect shielding
the B-reverse
Tech landing
angled attacks.
etc

When I play, I rank up more damage than a piñata. How do I not soak up so much damage?
How do you Perfect Pivot, why even Perfect Pivot, How are you even able to do something like Perfect Pivot outside the training mode where someone is out trying to attack you?
How do you even time the perfect shield? The only time that I seem to be able to perfect shield is VS Master Hand because its attacks come from across the screen, and Master Hand is the most predictable character to face against.
I find that equipping explosive perfect shield helps because it gives off a Que when you did it right.
I can't seem to do the B-reverse consistently when I want to. I'm not even sure when it would be good times to do the B-reverse. I seem to Falcon Punch the wrong way regardless if it is a spinning Falcon Punch or not.
What is Tech? Seems likely a poorly named mechanic. Apparently you can tech off a platform or miss teching off a platform, since the platform is needed, it should be called the tech landing. Still don't know how to do it though. :4charizard:
Lots of moves can be angled, even moves that I didn't know that can be angled can be angled. And I can't seem to angle it consistently. Like with :4zelda: teleport, if I'm above the stage, I want to teleport on to the stage, but instead I end up going in the default direction which sends my above the screen, now it will be easy for anyone below to get me because it is even easier than Master Hand slap from across the screen. (why isn't there a master hand emote?) (even if I angle my dissent) And it is even trickier with :4mewtwo: cause less window for the faster teleport.
What about items? Even if you turn off items and play exclusively on :fdb: some characters spawn items and some characters can go under Final Destination. (And Master Core will pickup Final Destination and smack you with it, therefore even final destination has a hazard.) How do you catch items?
How hit someone behind you? Not all characters have a down smash that hits behind them and only few characters can even do a spinning attack.
How do well in a match with greater than 2 player? The Nintendo64 has an innovative four controller slots :mario64: :fox64: :jigglypuff64: :samus64: so how deal with this massive numbers conflict that other fighting games like those on the PlayStation didn't have?
How do I even space? Lets say :4link: when I run and click A he does this jump and down swing with his sword and I end up missing and going behind the opponent with it, and when I walk and just do a side A, :4link:does a down swing with his sword and doesn't reach, and I try to do it again and even though I am holding Left, Link doesn't move any closer and I miss again, then I get punished. ...What is punish?

What did I leave off the list? (I didn't even get to edge guarding.)

I can offer you some 6/10 advice.

Perfect Pivoting: Can't say much here, as my controller is a bit slow for me to pull it off consistently. I think its used to get the preferred throw option (Back/Forward) and it is really good for tilts to get targets that roll.

Perfect shielding: Ryu is an excellent training partner for perfect shielding. Let him throw Hadoukens at you. The slow speed gives you an easy time to react and feel the perfect shield. The window of opportunity won't feel so impossible anymore. Soon you will be able to do dash->shield, which helps against projectile spammers. Fireballs are also good perfect shielding practice, and even Link's boomerang and arrows.

B reverse: I see it good for juking out foes. Play mind games so that even if they are behind you, they won't feel safe. To perform just press B and then flick the control stick the opposite direction. Captain Falcon/Ganondorf's B reverse isn't really a true B-reverse.

Tech landing: A tech is basically when you don't bounce off a wall or floor. This is done by pressing the shield button on the instant where you hit a wall/floor. This is often life saving.

Angled attacks: Just input the command and immediately move the control stick the direction you want. I'm noticing that I'm starting to have trouble with Palutena's warp the same way you have trouble with Zelda's Up+B, maybe I was just frustrated.

You can catch items by pressing the A button as soon as it gets in front of you. A much much more safer option is to short hop+air dodge. You can also grab items that way, and if you time it too early you avoided the punishment anyway.

Hit someone behind you: Well I could talk about perfect pivot again...

Match with 3 or more people: No perfect answer here, but I just defend myself from anyone trying to hit me. If I want to be on the aggressive, I would target people I see as a threat. Use grabs in uncrowded areas.

Spacing: Know your character and your enemy. I'm not too good at explaining this one.
(Run and click A = Dash Attack. Side A= Ftilt. Use this terminology to say things faster and clearer.)

Punish: You just said you get punish. Punishing is taking advantage of a missed attack or predicted ledge option/roll/air dodge/tech.
