I really want to know, so if there's a way to upgrade to the latest system menu, and NOT lose homebrew OR Brick my Wii.

Updating is really pointless anyways, why would you want to? If you want to update so you can use the Shop Channel use WiiSCU. Updating will likely brick any Wii, so it's a dumb idea.

But to more correctly answer you question, updating won't remove the HBC if you have the newest HBC update.

I want to play Brawl Wi-Fi, and any time I try to play, it disconnects me. From everyone. I think it's because I'm at 4.1, and they're all at 4.2.

That would be the only reason.

That wouldn't be the reason, because I can play Brawl WiFi just fine on 4.1, even with my friends on 4.2. Are you trying to play random WiFi on Brawl+? Because that doesn't work, it makes you de-sync which either freezes you Wii or disconnects. So it's either that, or you need to move your Wii closer to your router because it isn't getting a good signal.

That might be it. I'll try that.
