How do I see what I've unlocked?

Hi there! I'm new to the Super Smash Bro's franchise.

I started playing and was pretty unfamiliar with many of the characters, game modes, unlockables.. and just about everything. I've just worked out what the wrench icons are and how to customize characters with these new special moves.

My problem is, I know that I've unlocked some special moves for characters but I have no idea what character's they were for. Is there any way of finding out what you have unlocked without going into every character, and looking at every move slot?

I have the same issue with not knowing what characters and levels I've unlocked. I saw that I unlocked Falco, but I didn't even know I couldn't select him before. How do you know how many characters and levels there are to unlock? I know I can look it up online but is there some kind of progression screen in game? Are the characters and levels I haven't yet unlocked on the selection screen but disabled, or do they just appear when you unlock them?

Fantastic game! I've never loved a game so much that made me want to throw the controller at the wall so bad! Have sacrificed many sleep since I got it on day 1.

The game notifies you when you have unlocked all characters, stages, assist trophies, pretty much everything unlockable. And the characters you unlock will be added to the roster.
And I don't have the Wii U version yet, but on the 3DS version you can't see the custom moves without clicking on a character. You can see which character a special move is for when you unlock one, it will say 'NEW' on a character portrait.

Falco - Play 10 matches in Smash Mode or finish Classic Mode on any difficulty

Wario - Play 20 matches in Smash Mode or finish 100 Man Smash

Lucina - Play 30 matches in Smash Mode or finish Classic Mode on 5.5 difficulty or higher

Dark Pit - Play 40 matches in Smash Mode or All Star Mode on Normal difficulty

Dr Mario - Play 50 matches in Smash Mode or complete a hard level ticket in Master orders

R.O.B. - Play 60 matches in Smash Mode or finish at least 10 turns

Mr. Game & Watch - Play 80 matches in Smash Mode or finish Classic Mode with 5 different characters

Duck Hunt - Play 100 matches in Smash Mode or get at least one KO in a single Solo Cruel Smash

Stage unlocks

Dunk Hunt - Get at least one KO in a single Solo Cruel Smash

Flat Zone X - Play as Mr. Game & Watch and destroy 100 blocks in 1 game of Trophy Rush

Kongo Jungle 64 - Clear the “Original Heavy Weights” event (the first option) in single player Event Match.

PAC-LAND - Play all the maps in Smash Tour

Pokémon Stadium - Beat the “Lightning Strikes” (the third option) event in single player Event Match

Smashville - Beat the “Playing Tricks” (second option) event in single player Event Match

Sadly beside stages and characters, no way to tell until you unlock all of them.

Thanks gang! Basically what I thought. I know I unlocked a move for one character I hadn't heard of before.. anyway I have a whole lot more smashin' to do!

The way to do it is to check up your milestones. They are listed in game. And every major unlockable in the game is a milestone. So check up that list in game and you'll be on track.
