How do I replace the Wiimote wrist strap?

How do I??? I just got the newest version of the wrist strap for free but how do I actually replace it with the old one???

Take it off the old one. Put on the new one.

I think your problem lies with threading it and did you send a request for the Protective sleeves? Pinch the loop of the wriststrap and push through the slot. Once the pinched loop is through the slot put thd end (Where you put your hand) Through the loop and pull to secure it.
