How do I join to a tournament?

I'm new here and I've been playing Smash Bros since I was like 3 years old starting with Smash Bros 64...then melee...etc.
But the truth is that I have never been in a smash tournament before lol.
But I'm a good (not amazing) player because I usually win in 1 on 1 on the Wii U. I want to experience a tournament or something. That's the reason I joined here.
So there are online tournaments here or what? Sorry if I spelled something wrong, I'm Mexican xD

Smashladder.com is a place you can go to if you want online tournaments. Not too sure if this site hosts them or not.

Id say to also try and find an event in your area. Going to one is also a whole new experience and a lot of fun. Online tournaments are a great substitute but you can't really beat a tournament in person. Meeting the people you actually face off against just gives a whole different vibe than just getting a match in.
