How do I follow up from a Gentleman?

I have been playing some captain falcon recently and I cannot follow up from our 3 jab combo we all love. Any advice?

Low fair, nair, and tech chase come to mind. If you gentleman them off of a platform you could fall thru nair, uair, or maybe even grab if you're quick enough.

Get the 20XX HackPack, play PAL CF (Gentlemen is only pressing 3x A, nothing more) and just perform a Gentlemen and experiment with your follow ups (the CPUs will also DI properly). You will find some followups on your own.

It takes about 30 mins (or less) to install it to you PC. Idk about Wii. It REALLY helps. Your techchases and followups will be so much more better.

The lighter the opponent's character is, the lower their percent has to be before they get knocked in the air/on the ground from the gentleman. I think you have more options in this scenario than if they stay grounded. At very low percents light and floaty characters can be combo-ed a little from a gentleman before their floatyness puts them out of reach. You can reference this table from the smashpedia
