Pick up a partner who you enjoy playing with, for sure. Doubles are a lot more lax and the atmosphere is very different in my experiences. It has been a blast to play doubles with my practice partner and getting ridiculous combos. The other user who responded definitely hit you with a lot of the information you need though.

It's fun playing with random people and adapting the team to it. But then again there are those special teams
