How do I delete a gameboy save?

I can't find the info on the interwebs, so I figured why the hell not ask here?

I have a used copy of metroid 2 for my gameboy, but I don't want to play this person's save. Metroid is really confusing if you start from the middle. Anyone know how to delete the save from a GBC?

you can use this device called a mega memory card, which looks a lot like the gamesharks for that device... if you can't find one and can think of a way to easily transport an item from my house to yours, i'd gladly let you use mine
