I'm trying this on Battlefield (ho boy what a stage to practice LEDGES) as Marth. I'm running towards the ledge, trying to turn around, and wavedash to the ledge. But when I do it during the turnaround animation, Marth is facing the same direction he was during the dash.

i'm not really experienced with Melee as a whole, so.. haha.

EDIT: Okay, I just tried to wavedash at the point where I'm under roughly the middle of the side platform. I then turn around and wavedash again to the ledge and grab it. Is this correct?

There are a few ways to do this

1. Run to edge, notice the teeter animation, then dash away and wavedash back

2. If you are close enough, you can do a wavedash from a pivot method of your choice.

3. Cancel a run with crouch. You then have to dash dance to wavedash since you can't dash the opposite direction of the way you're facing when you crouch iirc. If I'm wrong about this, I would be pleased if someone corrected me.

If this didn't help, post a video of the ledgegrab being done.

Perfectly legitimate way to grab the ledge as Marth. Reasonably quick, easy to consistently perform.

edit: If you don't already do so, include fast falling to the ledge (hold down as you leave the stage, stop doing so before you fall past the ledge). It's a super significant speed boost to floaty characters like Marth
