What does one do when there is no weekly scene nearby? I live in a very Melee town and the closest PM scene is 3 hours away. Given my income and my car's gas mileage, that's not feasible. For an actual tourney, sure, but just for fun/practice...Best way to practice would be to go out and find your scene's weekly or monthly meetings. There comes a point when, in order to progress as a player, one has to play as many new people as possible.

Ask to start as a small side event to spark interest. You never know unless you try how big things can get. What does one do when there is no weekly scene nearby? I'm going to try to look into it. My big issues are that I will be starting my Master's this year (between that and work, not a whole lot of time) and that I don't have a good venue for anything bigger than a few people. Still, gonna try to find something. Already know a guy nearby who may try to have friendlies, so we'll see.Ask to start as a small side event to spark interest.
