How did you feel when you turned on the game for the first time?

Just wondering how you all felt on this. When you turned on Smash 4 for the first time, be it either the 3DS or Wii U version, what emotions did you feel?

Considering I was highly excited for Smash 4 since 2012, being on the hype train was one hell of a ride for me (even if I wasn't on Smashboards at the time). So actually having the game in my hands on launch day after what felt like such a short time despite the two year wait felt kinda crazy.

After sitting through the intro, I was just filled with pure, unadulterated happiness. Seeing all the footage that I had seen leading up to the game's release really got to me, and made me reflect on how awesome that time was. By the time the title showed up, I had chills going down my spine, uncontrollably excited to finally have a Smashing time for the fourth time around.

How about you guys?

i was sad, i was given the game and console from my mom for Christmas and i didn't have the heart to tell her "i don't want it" (I don't play a-lot of games, i feel its a wast of time and money.) but after looking up some characters and frame data i started having fun..,.. and now im here.

(had so much fun stated playing PM too)

When I first got the 3DS version and started playing it I felt ecstatic, I got it two days early, before any of my friends and I just played and learned the new characters and moves.

It took me until last month to get the WiiU version and obviously that waiting time inbetween sort of made the excitement die down for me. That being said, playing the game finally in HD and with all these new features is definitely a blast. One of the most complete and content packed games I've seen to date.

Extremely disappointed at the lack of an introduction cutscene on Smash 3DS.

It felt like I was on an private remote island paradise the first time I turned on the 3DS version.

It was a feeling of half intrigue and half indifference when I booted up the 3DS version: had everything spoiled already and I had the demo.

As for the WiiU version, however, I was hyped. I was very hyped.

I can't even begin to describe...how normal it all felt since I'd played the game on a few other occasions. The first thing I did was go to 8 player smash, team battle, 1v7, all level 9 and random, versus one lone Kirby (me!) on Big Battlefield. It was a beautiful day (and a complete massacre).

Having played all the Smash games, and having had the 3DS version for 3 months prior, I was like 'Here we go again'.

But in a happy, nostalgic and excited way. :)

Turning on Smash 3DS for the first time: Extreme uncontrollable excitement as I rushed to Smash mode to see how Robin played.

Turning on Smash U for the first time: A bit less excitement, but still excited nonetheless as I finally had a use for the Pikachu amiibo I got on Christmas morning.

I was pumped, until I saw the lack of an adventure mode. Then I was slightly disappointed as I was playing alone.

For Smash 3DS, I was very excited to finally have this game after it was announced 3 years ago. I think the notice you get which says "You turned on Smash 3DS for the first time!" really meant something to me. That entire speculation period was crazy and the leaks didn't help. It was a wild ride that was finally over.

For Smash U, I was really excited to have the main game I would stick to playing. Watching that intro, I wanted to continue playing so badly, but I sat through the awesome intro this game had.

It was literally christmas morning, and I was full of anticipation, since I had to wait through all the Sm4sh hype that had been ongoing for quite some time! Even worse, I knew that I would get the game for christmas for nearly all of December, which just made me even MORE eager to play it! On the day I had to wait a few hours before my brother came home, so we could play the game for the first time together. Let me just say it was worth the long wait, and our first match at all was on that Galaxy map. Just purely magical with the Galaxy music in the background!

Well, I was INSANELY happy about finally getting my hands on a Smash game, since I wanted to play any Smash at all for a long time. I didn't think much about it at the time, even though I was very excited, but my favorite memories are from my first games. Oh, it was a mess. I had no idea on what I was doing, simply pressing buttons with Fox in a failed attempt at winning, and desperately looking everywhere for a way to get minimally better. Raw, unadultered fun.

I was just thinking of how long I've been waiting for this very moment of finally playing Super Smash Bros. Universe for Wii U, I was ecstatic to say the least.

Even though I had the 3DS game from launch, I felt really hyped for both versions.

The 3DS one because it was my first time getting to play the full game, and I'd been on the hype train the day it was first announced.

The WiiU version because my friend had come over, and I'd ordered the game with the GCN controller adapter, and the Smash bros version GCN controller. Plus, my friend has ADHD, so he get's pretty excited and we were just having a blast playing teams together. I feed off his excitement, and he'd just continuely get more and more worked up. It's brilliant. cx

It was the only thing on my mind all day at school. I had an afterschool activity, which made the wait even longer. After seeing the 50 fact direct, the hype was like this conglomeration of energy that barrelled through me as I almost literally ran home. Then I switched it on and played it for about six hours.

I remembered when I checked my email at school that my pre-order finally came. That put a big stupid smile on my face for the rest of the day. After trying out a couple of the new characters, I unlocked all the characters and stages. One of the best 9 hours in my entire life XD.

I think the 3DS hype train was deflated a little by the demo releasing, and no intro video. But when the Wii U version was finally here, then wow. Ecstasy and relief that it was finally here was overwhelming and when the intro video came on with that Wolverine Shinkt sound it was smiles all around for the next few hours. Then I took my whole set up into work and played 8 player smash on a projector with 12 people.

For me I dropped my 3ds when I got the demo from club nintendo. My body was shaking then the game came out and I downloaded it but it didn't start until 12:20ish I watched Shofu's DHD 4 glory while waiting. (It wasn't cooperating). Then I got it and I stayed up all night playing it getting no sleep and going to school just to constantly think about playing that game. Smash WiiU then came out and I was yelling a little bit but I wasn't nearly as hyped as that as I was for the 3ds version. Good times...
