How come no one has thought of this new technique?

We have UP-smashes while running. Why can't we have DOWN-smashes while running? It's not like they make any less sense than a running up smash. Many character's up-smash is a back-flip kick, so it's not like they follow any realistic physics to begin with. This would give us a third attack option. Sometimes you wanna KO them horizontally instead of vertically and this would allow it strait out of a dash. You'd get that nice little slide that you get with an Up-smash while running.

lol and I play the game since 04/30/2000 and this was the first "advanced" technique I learned. The only other one I can perform is the short-hop double laser.

He was talking about a hyphen "Down" Smash.

Actually it is possible to short-hop double laser in Brawl. But lets stop with this talk because we are getting off-topic.

They had that in Melee, it was called crouch canceling; you could run and crouch which put you back into a neutral position, allowing you to do running forwards tilts, d tilts, smashes whatever. That really needs to come back.

I'm just imagining it right now in my head, many characters doing a running down smash and it just seems odd. xD

Would be cool if ya go into a slide after pressing down while running.
But I kinda like forcing characters to commit to a run. DACUS pretty much makes it so there's no reason not to sprint.
