I didn't know whether to put this in Online or Competitive, but I chose Online. Is it bad to treat all FG matches Competitively? I think this is where most peoples' rage stems from. The belief that "If I cant win online, how can I get far in a tournament?!" Don't punish yourself. I, too, rage, but it's better to just shrug it off and use it as an opportunity to learn.

Well, For Glory is supposed to be a competitive mode. Even if some tournament players insist in saying it "doesn't count" as competitive.

Its not bad to treat every match you play competitively, but people do need to get an understanding of the fact that For Glory isn't a good representation of what tourneys are going to be like. The lag is always going to be a huge factor, and then you get the fact that the only stage is FD..

Don't get me wrong. Its a great place to learn and practice. And I think its great that Nintendo at least included a win rate (though rankings would have been better IMHO), so we can rate our success vs. our failure. Its not going to always represent your skill because some matches will be ridiciolously easy for you and some will be the hardest you've ever faced.

Its not inherently /bad/ though to treat FG competitively. Its just not good to compare them to tourneys or even "competitive friendlies" as a means of learning and practice, because FG is inherently a flawed system and lag can sometimes totally destroy matches.
