How can you clean a GameCube controller joystick without taking it apart

I've used rubbing alcohol for years. A wash cloth and some rubbing alcohol to wipe the main areas and over the buttons just kind of to keep it clean from sweat and dirt. You can use q-tips dipped into rubbing alcohol to get inbetween stuff to keep it clean.
Friendly tip also is just to keep your hands clean when playing. Don't eat pizza and play. Nothing is more annoying then when that friend who doesn't have/bring their own controller decides it is fine to play while eating pizza.
tldr; rubbing alcohol (with q-tips if needed), friends who eat pizza while using your controllers should be punched in the face
