How can I make Link survive a Sudden Death?

I searched.. I'm pretty sure I didn't see this anywhere... shoot me if I'm wrong.



Anyway, I totally fail at Sudden Deaths. I lose them all the time. I have trouble getting bombs out, (let alone chucking them somewhere), because it's difficult to have the nunchuck's analog stick do what I want it to do, so bombs haven't worked well. Charging up my up B hasn't worked, and running in flailing my sword madly.. obviously also doesn't work.

I'm kinda stuck. D':

spam arrows? space with jabs, and z-air? whenever they're off of you, jump back and pull out a bomb and throw it

nair? grabs are risky. i usualy spam bombs. f- smash is pretty fast. there's a few options.

Spam arrows, boomerang, bombs, Zair, dash attack, or if you take too long find somewhere safe from the bombs and let them kill everyone. Always try to kill them downwards or sideways. I lost count of how many times I'd kill someone off the top of the screen, only to be blasted sideways by a bomb and lose before they disappeared in the background.

I usually play the kiting game by flinging some boomerangs and such to keep range, then dash attack when I see an open spot. Worked for me so far.

Bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs bombs.

Learn to pull out a bomb better. Practice if you have to. Do a short hop backwards. Also, nair is awesome. Use it, then fast-fall into the enemy. Great speedy attack with decent priority and almost no lag.

Reminds me of a story of how I was literally cheated out of a sudden death. If it weren't for Bob-ombs, I'd've won.

EDIT: Actually, it's the same case as with what Iron Blade up there seems to be talking about.

in 1 sudden death, it was vs a lucas online, and i rolled back, pulled out a bomb. as i did that, he pk freezed. i rushed him with the bomb and threw it, only to be pk frozen. as i was flying of the top, i noticed my bomb hit him and he somehow flew off the side. i won!!!

on topic, a full charged arrow will do it to. (incoming sd story) lol, another time, vs fox, as i charged my arrow, he put the reflector. as bombs started to fall it became a game of chicken. he put his reflector down miraculisly dodged a bomb... right in to my arrow...! k i'm done.

haha charge up spin attack!? im glad THAT didnt work. i try to bomb them or zair or grab->upthrow among other things. i win 50 50 tho haha

Tell me about it.... my first Wi-Fi With Anyone match ended with an excruciatingly painful death. A bomb spawned as I knocked him off the top of the screen, and blew me off the top of the screen as well, except I came forward and hit the screen on the way down, which takes less time than a normal star KO. Even though I went off the top of the screen after him I still died first x_x

I usually se his dash attack cancel from the start, kinda risky though.

I have a ton of problems in sudden deaths too... Your best bet is to keep rolling and using fast attacks that leave you vunerable. Don't bother with your projectiles because they're too weak to KO anyone even at 300%.

Maybe dsmash against the more conservative opponents.

I usually like to lead off with a boomerang, pull out a bomb, and see how the opponent reacts. Remember that simply having a bomb in hand is a major advantage to you already; either choose to overwhelm your opponent with projectiles, or go in for that quick dash attack when the time is right.
