I picked up the game maybe a few months ago and I'm a pretty solid player. I can beat everyone I know, I have around 1800+ wins on For Glory but I still don't feel like I'm playing to my full potential. My friend Antonio can read me like a book and I've taken tips from him but they were very mediocre. I've tried a lot of characters so far in smash from pikachu, to link, and now to Falco. I still can't find that one character I feel solid and natural with. I'm just asking for some tips on how to improve on reads, defense, and how your mentalities are when YOU play Smash. Anything really would be appreciated!!

Well the first thing you're going to want to do is find a character you enjoy. Is there a playstyle that you enjoy? Do you enjoy being defensive, or offensive? Do you enjoy rushdown or zoning? If you can figure that out, it'd help make finding a character that much easier. For example, if you enjoy offensive playstyles, I wouldn't recommend playing Palutena because she thrives on playing safe and being defensive.

Honestly I love being offensive. But sometimes I get punished for being too offensive in For Glory and in my friendlies against my friends. I think I should incorporate both, offense and defense into my game plan. AND THANK YOU FOR COMMENTING IT REALLY MEANS A LOT.
