I don't see why Falco is such a high tier. He gets chaingrabbed so easily on FD, and his recovery is very poor. What are some tricks to comboing with him, and how can I stop getting chaingrabbed?

what you need to do is laser. Use your SHL to approach and keep your opponent stunned. The basic Falco combo using your awesome shine to send them into the air, where they are at your mercy. Bairs, Dairs, and Nairs my friend. On platform stages, you can use your shine and wavelands to do some pretty awesome combos. Your spike (Dair) is a good off stage finisher/edgegaurd.

Lasers, dairs, and shines. The perfect recipe for success. His recovery may be bad, and he may get comboed like crazy, but he can consistently destroy his opponent like its nothing. Make sure to make use of his best tool, his laser. Just fire away and make approaching difficult for them, while at the same time doing damage and preparing for yourself to approach and start a combo.

Like everyone else said, laser into grabs, dtilts, and aerials to get combos started. Know how to follow DI and work with platforms. Any easy thing to practice is either go on FD and practice pillaring and juggling (I use uair, shine, utilt, and others) or go on a platform stage and work with the platforms. I usually practice simple things like shining, wave dashing on to platforms and either smashing or whatever

Most of the characters that can chaingrab you have a hard time dealing with your pressure and lasers especially marth who is the most grab heavy of characters. Improve your pressure and laser game and you will decrease the likelihood of being grabbed. However fox's shine makes him more resistant to pressure, but you should be able to make combos on him far more devastating than his grabs. Dair to shine to dair to shine/utilt should be bread and butter and good follow-ups are more dair, Nair, reverse weak hit Bair, even fair sometimes, shine, utilt and sometimes even the smashes can extend your combo. As you can see falco has a great set of combo moves so you just need to be creative. I recommend practicing against a lvl 1 fox to test things out and try to get as much damage as possible per shine.
