How can I find an appropriate tourney location?

I know the topic title sounds like something that's easily answered by the regional boards, but it's a little more complicated than that. See, I live in northeast Wisconsin (so midwest), but I'm on the border of Wisconsin and Michigan. All the tournaments and get-togethers I've seen listed for Wisconsin and Michigan are either in the central/southern part of Wisconsin, or Michigan's lower peninsula. I just recently got a job that forces me to live nearby (foundry work), so I really need to find a tournament that's within a reasonable driving distance. I don't have the highest opinion of tournaments right now, but I'm willing to go to one if I'm able to attend one in the area that doesn't cost a crapload to attend.

In the state/region specific boards. I went through a fair amount of topics on both state's boards and didn't see any that were close enough to me.
