i do not understand what to do against falco's ledge jump double laser. like i feel like this is definitely a 0/100 thing. like whatever i do puts me in a bad spot

if i shield then i get stuck in shield and then he can pressure or shoot more lasers like a prickface

if i jump over then i am now in the air and my horizontal mobility is lost and he can do whatever he wants to me

if i try to stay close to shield grab or something then i just get shined or grabbed

if i try to go far away then he just shoots more lasers

if i try to hang out on the platform i still get hit

if i just eat them up then i get damage and then he can do more stuff afterwards

if i try to hit him or something before the laser comes out then he either reacts and hits me with something else or the invincibility covers him

i have played against a few falcos who seem to have sensed that i cannot do anything against it so they just keep doing it over and over again until i do some stupid ass approach and get hit. i try watching videos of pro falcons vs pro falcos but the pro falcos don't even seem to do it which must mean there is some counter to it??? but i cannot figure it out for the life of me. how am i supposed to do anything without a projectile or disjointed hitbox? if there is no counter then why don't the falcos just do it for 8 minutes every game? someone pls help :(

Grab the ledge before Falco gets there, or full-hop stomp. Don't feel pressured in the edge-guarding opportunity. Falco is a sitting duck in up-b. You have to catch the bird, or let it sweep itself away.

Don't let them get to the ledge, plain and simple.

Soft knee > uair
uair > knee
uair
soft knee > knee (situational)

^ all beyond excellent options to pick off a recovering spacie.

However, I tend to counter LHDL with fhop nair/dair/delayed uair
One option that I think might be viable is PS one laser and eat the other with shield and then nair/WD OOS
If you have platforms, use them, so you don't have to fhop aerials. Falco can't deal out pressure horizontally so you should be comfortable with your platforms.

well yeah obviously i would like to grab the ledge in an edgeguard situation (or just successfully edgeguard them) but that doesn't always happen! also sometimes i just hit them on the stage and they end up on the ledge. and i still don't understand how to beat players who purposely go to the ledge and LHDL repeatedly :( how can i full hop aerial on any stage other than final? and the prickface falco can still catch me if i go on any platform but the top one, and then it is a ***** trying to come down :(

One of my favorite things to do is to run straight at the ledge and run off stage then jump back and back air him jumping off the ledge (this is a good mixup for most characters but works especially well for falco laser from the ledge). You're super fast and you pretty much always have time to run past him before he can jump off the ledge and do anything.

if they do it wrong, easiest punish is full-hop stomp

Someone already suggested powershield. I suggest doing it. Learning to powershield is the definitive answer to laser. Someone else said something about not letting Falco get to the ledge. That might be hard if they're laser camping but being aware of stage position in general is good practice.

Also, if you're getting shined or grabbed from shielding LHDL you aren't punishing anywhere near fast enough. LHDL is not safe, it's a control tactic. As a Falco main myself I assure you that you shouldn't be losing to it unless you're a respectable distance away and not powershielding.

side B in actually wrecks it

run off double jump in with bair also works

dtilt if they do it badly

otherwise just shield it and wavedash out... he's still cornered, so you still got the advantage
