I heard that after conducting a survey in which 9/10 Goku supporters would like to see him in the game even if all of his attacks were a copy of Mario's fireball attack, Sakurai said, "**** it! People really do only care about more characters! Well we can crank out five a day, if we don't give them any new moves or make them anything other then a mostly static image." Further I've heard that not only is the roster currently 237 characters and counting, but that he is no longer saying no to any character suggestions. Just email him your suggestions, he'll get someone to translate them all by the after noon, and then he'll start put in all of those characters.
In a more interesting twist he went on to say, "Screw third parties, and intellecutal property ownership laws! This game will make the world's economy three times over in profits, so let them sew if they really want to. But they won't, because they are all pansies! You're a pansy!"
I forgot my source, but this isn't a rumor. It's totally confirmed fact and you will realize this once you see that Luigi is in the next ssb4.
My only question is where are they all going to fit on the character select screen? Will the character select screen just have a random sampling of maybe 50 of the characters you've unlocked? Or maybe we won't even get to choose a character anymore, with how many there will be in by the time the game finishes it will just be far easier to let the computer choose a character for you you didn't even know you had.
Oh and all star mode can be the new story mode as it will no doubt take far longer then then subspace emissary.
In all seriousness though, I'd probably snap under the pressure. How does he keep it together and not end up doing something completely off the wall like this?
