Back in the days of SB64, FFA tournaments were the way my friends and I played. we deleted vs. records and determined winners by the number of wins + the kill to death ratio's on our drafted characters.
When melee came around we tried the same thing but melee was terrible for 4 players. it was way to chaotic and with all the random explosions and high priority little taps, big characters were made useless and the game was largely unplayable. Melee tournaments were very inconsistant, and anyone could win because of the randomness involved. Don't get me wrong, melee was great for 2 players, but 4 players was just never the same.
So how is brawl for 4? when I heard the game was being slightly slowed down, and it was feeling a bit more like 64 I was pretty stoked. so do you think ffa tourney's can make a comeback now? or is this game still to hectic to allow for consistant winners? Don't forget that kills are even more important than wins in this style, so entirely new stratagies open up when you have to plan around stealing everyones points.
