I've been looking for a while for a controller that fits my tastes, which is basically just a controller that has short-stroke triggers and the C-stick in a comfortable spot. I was belated to hear about the Hori Battle Pad because it's basically a Gamecube controller with the short-stroke triggers, but I've heard a few reviews from Amazon that there are problems with the analog stick snapping back too far and making your character turn around, along with a little input lag. Could anyone who owns this controller test this out for me? I'm having that problem currently with the gamepad (doing pivot grabs in place of normal grabs 1/5 of the time) and I may just deal with a Gamecube controller if the analog stick problem is true.

No, because of the turbo function and it being wireless.

That's a shame, they looked really promising. Glad I saved a buck and didn't grab one quite yet.
For casual/friendly play, the turbo doesn't seem like it would cause much grief. While the controller isn't valid for all tournament play, you might as well open one up and see if you can mod the joystick to not do that.

For now I suppose I'll just go with the safer option of the GameCube adapter, I'm going to need it for parties anyway

I have the Mario Hori BattlePad and have not noticed any issue? I personally like rumble and that would have been nice, but it's whatever. I haven't noticed anything about the "snapback" issue or any input lag

That's interesting... Why would it do that?
One thing I noticed about the game is that movement is very sensitive. This is something I have seen in the 3DS version, I dont own it but I saw streams when the game was out and many people had accidentally done smash attacks when their intention was to do a tilt attack. On all my controllers I have the same problem, I don't have to put much force on my control stick to do a smash attack. I think the deadzones need to be adjusted for this game. Heck the Wii U gamepad even has the problem of making you turn around while running like the amazon review described. In 1on1s there's times when my opponent is open, I want to just walk up to him and grab him but no, my character just dashes then grabs missing the target/running straight past them. It really sucks and hope this will get fixed though I doubt it.

That makes sense. I could see the problem being that the battle pad uses the shape of a controller but functions as a classic controller, so the deadzones may be more strict on the classic controller.

Hmm, if it's just a controller defect then maybe ones with this issue could get a refund/replacement? It seems this issue is too commonplace for them to go through with that though
