Pretty new here, just learning the basics right now. Basically what I've noticed with using the C stick is that you can't get your aerials out as quickly as you can with the A button. By that I mean that there's a delay from moving your finger from jump to the C stick, and you lose a few frames of getting your aerial out that might have made a difference.

I do know that some people claw grip jump to get around this. Should I honestly even be worrying about this? Should I switch to claw grip or use A to get out those really quick aerials? Or should I just sacrifice those few frames and always use c stick?

I switch from normal grip to semi claw depending on what I'm doing. Personally I find that works out really well but whether you use A or C stick ultimately won't make a big difference for most things (stuff like falling up air or retreating forward air are better done with c stick)

Yeah. Thanks for the info guys. Awesome. Been practicing for like 3 hours straight right now. I'm just going to learn to do everything with both A and C stick and mix the two together for what the situation calls for. I might try claw grip as well.

Anywho, Yeah. That post on that thread was very informative. [:

I use both depending on the situation. I claw and use it when I'm using Peach though because it's easier to do that when you are floating.

I'd personally practice until you can frame perfect aerial out of sh with c-stick. There's no substitute for maintaining all control of your positioning.
