Hitlag is different

Extremely minor, but cool. As you can see in the Little Mac trailer, hitlag doesn't completely stop the animation. Mac's arm keeps moving when he's in hitlag but his blur stays still. Looks like it slows the animation way down instead of a complete stop.

What I noticed is, when a strong attack hits an opponent "time" freezes for a short period before they are thrown away.. no idea if that's good or not, maybe gives more time to DI?

In mac's case, it may be different because of his "don't flinch" stuff

Right now I'm kinda banking on it being a product of Mac's play-style. Hopefully some new footage will give new insight, but who knows how far off that is -_-

Zelda's bair in brawl gave you soo much hit lag!
It gives you like 3/4 of a second or 3/4 of 60 frames to di properly lol.

Yeah, that time that you're frozen is called hitlag. That's when you are able to SDI.
