Hi.
A little about me ~
We all have our game that we're best at. Some it's chess, which i'm fairly good at but certainly not competitive. Some it's Call of Duty, Some Football. My game has always consistently been Any form of the Smash Bros.
I brought home smash 64 as a rental when I was at the tender age of 6. At that point I instantly loved it and played it all day with my friends, we never were any good, but as my technique began to develop I mained Fox. We unlocked every character and played into the wee hours of the night. Alas, at some point it does grow tiring, and so I hung up my N64 controller to other games (banjo kazooi) Years later GameCube was out and life was magical. Then while wandering about my local Best Buy I happened upon something reality shattering. Yes... Melee was out.
I instantly tried the demo to find myself shortly beaten by a level 9 computer. It was an insta-buy for me and i don't think in my entire life I've ever brought home a video game I could be more excited about. I played it always fighting the level 9 computers because I had no friends at this point in my life and this was my only place after school i could go. I retreated to the world of smash bros, never having a main in particular, in fact I preferred learning each of the characters little ins and outs until A new challenger approached.
Wait... What? A new challenger in melee? Who the heck is that?!
It was after my 1000th match played that Mr Game and Watch challenged me and instantly my personality loved this character. I played him every match, he was sparatic, unpredictable, mysterious.... Everything about him made me want to main him. So I did.
With time Brawl came out, Game and Watch was good, but not as good as I remembered from melee, I like Brawl, it wasn't the step up at the time Melee was, but still good. I had friends by this point in my life and whenever they came over I challenged myself to beat them with any character available. So each match I would change my character and play-style around that character to challenge myself being as I was much more experienced in smash than any of them. So with that I found out I don't really have a main, and that suits my personality. One character after awhile bores me. Therefore I love changing characters and play-styles every time I play. In particular I loved Pikachu, Game and Watch, Diddy Kong, King Dee Dee Dee and Link in Brawl.
Smash Bros Wii U came out and at first I didn't like it as much(because I wasn't used to it) and it was more difficult to adapt to than the others but now that I've played it awhile I can definitively say it's my absolute favorite smash title by far. All the characters are interesting there's many play styles, there's lots of fun and interesting stages there's DLC and updates and most of the characters seem very balanced. Even Sheik who is claimed to be the strongest in Smash 4 is very difficult to master and isn't apparently over powered at least not to me. But, I'm a nobody that plays at home anyway.
Me and my friends play all the time and I still have the same approach, I love to practice with every character, So I don't really have a main. My strongest character is Cloud who I just picked up. I still love Villager, Diddy, Mega-man, Ryu, Zelda, Mario, Dee Dee Dee, Marth, Yoshi, anybody that seems interesting to me.
Anyway that's about it, I look foward to playing with you all in the future. My internet is currently laggy so I can't play For Glory, but my friends were talking about training for a tournament, so we're gonna use this site as a source for tips and advanced techniques. Wonderful meeting you all!
