Hi I'm new!

Hello all! My name is TJ, and I'm a teacher and musician from Knoxville, TN.

My story is what I imagine to be similar to many, but I have been a casual smasher since my childhood. I stumbled across the Smash Bros doc in May just in time for the summer of smash and now I'm hooked!

As I practice tech skill for my new hobby, I find myself wanting a local scene so I made an account here to learn more about Melee/Project M and to try and find fellow smashers in East TN that are interested in jump-starting a competitive group here.

I don't consider myself developed technically enough to have a main, but I feel really drawn to both Falco and Peach so maybe one day I'll have to choose.

Outside of smash I have a Masters degree in music and my passion is education, I'm always down to talk about either.

Also football is cool.

Guess I'll start off with a question: What kind of music do you play & with what instruments?

What team do you pull for in College/Pro Football? Figured I'd ask since everyone doesn't exactly pull for their home team.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I actually just found that forum today, I'm going to my first tourney tomorrow I'm pretty pumped.

In music I main bassoon, but I also play a bit of saxophone and trumpet. I play in small chamber groups mostly, and I'm taking auditions to play in professional orchestras.

I was raised on University of Tennessee football and I couldn't change allegiance if I wanted to haha. College ball holds my interest more than professional because of the diversity of schemes and parity. How bout you?

Ah, when I was active in the band in grade school, I'd switch around between Alto, Tenor, Baritone, and Soprano saxophones depending on what we were playing. I mainly played Tenor, and Soprano was more for Jazz Band rehearsals.

Well, looks like I would've been right in assuming you were a fan of University of Tennessee football
College football is definitely more exciting to watch, so I agree with you there. I'm from GA and pull for the hometown, so I root for the Dawgs, but I'll pull for the SEC conference in general. As for professional football, of course, I'm a Falcons fan. Unfortunately, last season was terrible though...

Hello I am also in the East Tenn Area Blount County to be exact; Congrats on your first tournament hope you do well. Me and a couple guys i play Smash with wanna hit a local tournament soon. Glad to see so many East Tenn Smasher on the forums so far.
